Another Child Foundation STANDS for Orphan Sunday!

Below is some items from the Christian Alliance for Orphans

On Orphan Sunday, Christians stand for the orphan. We are a people called to defend the fatherless…to care for the child that has no family…to visit orphans in their distress. Each event is locally-led. Sermons and small groups, concerts and prayer gatherings, shared meals and youth activities—each rousing believers with God’s call to care for the orphan, and what we can do in response. From many sources, one voice. Each November, thousands of events will echo across America and around the globe, all sharing a single goal: that God’s great love for the orphan will find echo in our lives as well. Orphan Sunday is your opportunity to rouse church, community and friends to God’s call to care for the orphan.

Help Another Child Foundation make a difference in the life of an orphan. As you can see by the video your help can indeed make a difference in the life of a child that God has entrusted to the care of Another Child Foundation and Fundatia Buckner.

The sponsorship of a child through Another Child Foundation is surprisingly simple, and the effects your sponsorship will have on a child is dramatic. Supporting an orphan in our program enables our staff members to not only provide for their educational & physical needs, but will provide HOPE for the child as the staff mentors the child. By providing the LOVE of God to the child, the child’s self-esteem will soar as they develop into the person God has created them to be. Without the assistance of generous people these children will continue to live in the “darkness” they we born into

The 12 for 12 program is design to help our supporters get involved by committing a reasonable amount of financial resources. Each of the $12 donated monthly will help transform a life by supplying clean water, speech therapy, Christian education, food, medical attention and other items. However, it is God's LOVE and HOPE given by the Fundatia Buckner staff on a daily basis that truly transforms their lives.

ACF & Thrivent Financial partner on helping at-risk children

If you are a member of Thrivent Financial then you are probably aware of Thrivent Choice and Choice Dollars. Thrivent is a financial services organization that helps Christians be wise with money and live generously. They offer a broad range of products and services- including life insurance, annuities and mutual funds- along with guidance from their financial representatives.

For more than a century they have helped nearly 2.4 million members-owners make wise money choices that reflect their values. They also provide opportunities for them to be even more generous where they live, work and worship. Thrivent believes that all we have is a gift from God and that generosity is an expression of faith.

Another Child Foundation is excited to be a part of the Choice Dollars program. So, if you are a member of Thrivent and have Choice Dollars in your account that need to be distributed to a non-profit organization please consider helping us with your dollars. CLICK HERE to go to the Thrivent website to make your Choice Dollars go to work helping at-risk children in Romania.

Thrivent Financial was a big supporter of our Project Respond humanitarian aid drive as they donated the money for us to purchase all of the shipping boxes and supplies.

New Ride for Kids!

This summer is was deemed necessary to purchase a new van for Fundatia Buckner to use for transporting children to and from the Point of Hope Development Center. The old white van being used by the foundation was old and getting unreliable. The last thing we, or anyone wants, is to endanger kids by transporting them in an unreliable vehicle. This van has also been used to transport mission teams around Romania. Sometimes a coin-flip was taken and the losing team got the opportunity to ride in the white van an experience the beautiful Romanian countryside without air conditioning.

In all seriousness, the need for a much newer van was vital to the future of the ministry going forward. Since this was not a budgeted item in 2014 ACF did not the funds available to simply purchase a newer van. So, together with Fundatia Buckner we started to pray for a donor and some funds to become available to purchase the van we needed to ensure the safety of the children and mission teams. In July God answered our prayers and Dacian Moldovan (Fundatia Buckner-President) started the search for the perfect van that met his needs and our budget. Last week the van was found in Nuremberg, Germany. After a long drive back Dacian took these pictures for us to share with you guys.

Another Child Foundation and Fundatia Buckner are so thankful for everyone one out there who see the ongoing needs in Romania and decide to get involved. Without the help of so many of you we could not do the work that God has called us to do. ACF is overjoyed that God has entrusted to us the well-being of these children.

10K Bushel Project

Don King & Dean Sweenie at the grill
On Tuesday October 7 ACF kicked off the 2014
10K Bushel project with a cookout for farmers at
Atherton Grain in Normandy, Illinois. ACF volunteers served over 50 grill cooked meals to farmers throughout the Walnut area. On Thursday, Michlig Grain made their farmers aware of the project to help at-risk children in our communities and around the world in Bradford, Illinois. ACF and Michlig employees served lunches to over 60 farmers and their workers during the 1-hour time. Friday, Michlig Grain was at it again in throughout the farming region of Bureau County delivering some delicious pork chop sandwich lunches. With the farmers harvesting their crops this time of year it is difficult to get these hard-working people to slow down for lunch. So, we made it easier for them as we hand delivered many of the chops. Maybe next year we will call this day "chops for crops". On October 16, ACF and Michlig Grain are partnering up one more time to serve the farmers in the Cambridge, Illinois area.

ACF volunteers and local farmers
Another Child is pleased to be partnering with great agri-businesses like Michlig Grain, Marquis Grain, Atherton Grain, and Northern Grain Marketing.

The Purpose of the 10K Bushel Project
The 10K bushel project is an effort to involve local farmers to support vulnerable children through-out their community and world.  Local farmers are the providers of much of the world’s food. Here in the mid-west farmers have been richly blessed with the ability to grow corn in amazing quantities. Area Agri-businesses, & Another Child Foundation want to partner with local farmers to tend to the needs of at-risk children. The donation of a farmers first bushels of grain will help rid the world of malnutrition. Whether it be 25, 50, or 100 bushels, their support will help at-risk children here in Central Illinois and throughout the world!

A special THANKS to Ron Brokaw and his staff at Atherton Grain for all of their hard work, to Amy Allen, of Michlig Grain, for her coordination efforts, to Don & Val King for their vision in helping us help others, all of the Michlig Grain staff for their willingness to help us share the needs of vulnerable children all over the world. Finally, a thank you to Dave Bohm who will be heading up the 10K Bushel Project for Northern Grain Marketing.
