Transitional Home transition

Just wanted to update everyone on the Transitional Home and the young ladies living in our center currently. Maria decided to leave the program. We feel she could have benefitted to remain in the program a little longer but she seems happy with her decision. Klara has also decided to leave our program. Klara had been living in the T-home the longest of the 3 girls. Klara's departure left us with only Rozalia as a current resident. Since she was the most recent to move in and with her difficult upbringing she has also decided to move on with her life. She will be leaving the T-home very soon. We wish each of them God's peace and grace as they try to find their place in life.

So, where does that leave us? Actually, it leaves us in a very good position. We can now bring in 3 new young ladies at the same time. Dacian, the Romanian director will be meeting with the Child Protection Services (CPS) next week to start this process. In the meantime our mentor, Alexandra will be doing more work at the Buckner Romania office preparing for the mission teams and interns who will be arriving in less than a month. Busy times are ahead for our ministry in Romania as the heat from the summer begins to move in.

Feel free to become a follower of this blog to keep up-to-date on everything happening.

Shoes for Orphan Souls- Romania

ACF will be hosting a shoe drive in the Quad City (Illinois & Iowa) area from June 15 through July 15. By collecting "new" pairs of shoes we will be able to meet some of the physical needs the orphaned and at-risk children in Romania have on a daily basis. Can you imagine only having 1 pair of shoes and those shoes either do not fit properly or are worn to the point where they do not protect your feet? This is the situation the children we assist deal with daily. Tonight I ask that you take a minute and look into your closet and count the number of shoes you have that are just sitting in the closet waiting to be worn. Then pray on how you can be involved in this part of our ministry.

You could have your church or business sign-up to be a drop-off location. This simply means that you will collect shoes that people drop-off to your business or church. Then set-up a time to deliver these shoes to our central collection point. Or you could purchase a pair or 2 and deliver them to a drop-off location.

Finally, we are going to have a drawing for 1 person to WIN an opportunity to travel with ACF to Romania to actually put the shoes onto the feet of these children in October. We will be posting something on our website very soon detailing this exciting promotion. Thanks for visiting our blog. Feel free to make comments!
